Eberhard Klagemann

Eberhard Heinz August Klagemann (born April 20, 1904 in Wilhelmshaven , † March 30, 1990 in Königsdorf ) was a German film producer .

Life

After completing a bank apprenticeship, he joined Universum Film (UFA) . He began as a manager and in 1930 production under Erich Pommer . In this role he was involved in several prestigious UFA productions, including Die Drei von der Gasstelle and Der Kongress tanzt .

In 1933 he switched to TK Tonfilmproduktion, and in 1934 he founded his own production company with Klagemann Film. In the following years he produced several successful love films with actress Jenny Jugo as the leading actress.

In 1948 he began directing a Yugoslav film at DEFA . After that he was involved in a few German films with his Munich- based Klagemann-Film GmbH before retiring into private life in 1964. Klagemann was not only connected to Jenny Jugo on business, but also at times her partner. From 1950 both lived on a farm in Schönrain .
