Eberhard Rüger is a former German figure skater who started in ice dancing for the GDR .

Career

His ice dance partner was Annerose Baier . The couple began their career at SC Wismut Karl-Marx-Stadt and started in 1963 for SC Karl-Marx-Stadt . Rüger and Baier were ice dance champions of the GDR in 1962 and from 1964 to 1970 and took part in world and European championships from 1965 to 1970. Her best result at European championships was fourth place in 1970 in Leningrad and sixth place at world championships in 1969 in Colorado Springs and 1970 in Ljubljana . Eberhard Rüger married the multiple world and European figure skating champion Gabriele Seyfert . In 1974 their daughter Sheila was born. The marriage ended in divorce in 1975.
