Hugo Wolf (politician)

Hugo Wolf (born July 2, 1896 in Mainz , † September 4, 1960 ibid) was a Hessian politician ( VRP ) and a former member of the state parliament of the People's State of Hesse in the Weimar Republic .

Wolf was the son of the postman Johannes Wolf and his wife Johanna Matharina Maria née Busch. He married Johanna Margaretha Karola nee Frey on March 31, 1923 in Mainz. Hugo Wolf was a Protestant denomination.

Wolf studied law and graduated with a doctorate in law. jur. from. He became a court assessor in Worms , was a district judge at the Osthofen district court in 1926 and 1927, and from 1928 a public prosecutor at the Mainz district court .

Before February 1926, Wolf became a member of the NSDAP . In that month he was appointed Nazi provincial leader for Rheinhessen . From October 1926 he was also responsible for the western part of the Starkenburg province and the area around Wiesbaden. In 1927 he founded the local NSDAP group in Mainz.

In the run-up to the Hessian state elections in November 1927, which was boycotted by the NSDAP, Wolf left the party. In the election he received a mandate for the Reich Party for People's Law and Appreciation. On April 14, 1931, he left the VRP faction (which, in addition to himself, consisted of Friedrich Axt and Georg Best ). On September 17, 1931, he joined the German national group in the state parliament. From 1931 to 1933 Wolf headed the Stahlhelm in Mainz.

After the end of the war, Wolf was one of the initiators of the re-establishment of the Mainz Ranzengarde in 1946/47 .
