Annerose Baier married. Wetzel (born September 9, 1946 ) is a former German figure skater who started in ice dancing for the GDR .

Her ice dance partner was Eberhard Rüger . The couple began their career at SC Wismut Karl-Marx-Stadt and started in 1963 for SC Karl-Marx-Stadt . Baier and Rüger were ice dance masters of the GDR in 1962 and 1964 to 1970 and took part in world and European championships from 1965 to 1970. Her best result at European championships was fourth place in 1970 in Leningrad and sixth place at world championships in 1969 in Colorado Springs and 1970 in Ljubljana . An ice dance competition at the Winter Olympics did not exist until 1976 and so this figure skating discipline was less supported in the GDR than the other disciplines.

Baier and Rüger were the only internationally successful ice dance couple in the GDR. After her resignation in 1970, no ice dance championship was held in the GDR from 1971 to 1989.

Annerose Wetzel now works as a trainer in Chemnitz .
