Eberhard von Jähnichen
Eberhard von Jähnichen (born June 6, 1914 in Bytom ) is a German mechanical engineer and professor emeritus at the University of Hanover .
Life
Von Jähnichen studied mechanical engineering at the Technical University of Wroclaw , where he also stayed for several years as a research assistant. In 1945 he was drafted into military service and became a prisoner of war. He was released in 1948 and then worked as a motor vehicle mechanic and inspector in the US Army until 1952 . Then he went to the Technical University of Hanover . There he mainly dealt with welding constructions. In 1958 von Jähnichen switched to the State Engineering School in Hanover, from which the University of Hanover later emerged. He managed the company workshop and taught in the mechanical engineering department. In 1976 he retired.
