Eberhard zu Solms-Lich

Count Eberhard zu Solms-Lich (* February 11, 1530 - June 30, 1600 in Hirschberg ) was Landdrost of the Duchy of Westphalia .

Solms was the son of Count Reinhard zu Solms-Lich and his wife Countess Maria von Sayn. From about 1561 he was Landdrost in the Duchy of Westphalia and thus deputy to the sovereigns of the Electors of Cologne and chairman of the estates . He was the only holder of this office who was not a native of the country or who owned it.

Since January 1570 he was also the official of Menden . After initial hesitation, Solms presented by 1583 against the Elector of Gebhard Truchsess made attempt the Reformation in the Electorate of Cologne and the associated by-country to introduce Duchy of Westphalia.
