Eborac Island Lighthouse

The Eborac Island Light is an active lighthouse on Eborac Island , a small rocky island on the Adolphus Channel on Cape York, on the northern tip of the Cape York Peninsula in Queensland , Australia .
The 6 m high lighthouse is the northernmost lighthouse on the continent of Australia, which guides ships on their way to the Great Barrier Reef .
Building and signals
The concrete structure was built in 1921, on which the lantern room is located.
The lighting consists of two light signals, a white signal every two seconds and a red one every ten seconds (bottle (2) WRG 10s). On August 8, 1990, operations were switched to solar energy .
reachability
The lighthouse is operated by the Australian Maritime Safety Authority . The island can only be reached by boat, and entry to both the site and the lighthouse is prohibited to the public. A helipad is located near the tower.
