description

Echeveria colorata grows with rarely branched shoots that reach a length of up to 8 centimeters. The leaf rosettes are 13 to 20 centimeters in diameter and form up to 40 leaves. The ovate to obovate leaves are 5 to 9 centimeters long, 3 to 5 centimeters wide and 8 millimeters thick. They are bluish- glaucous in color and overflowed with red at the edges and at the tip.

The up to 30 centimeter high inflorescence forms two to three branched and up to 5 centimeters long coils that carry 4 to 6 individual flowers. The flower stalk becomes 5 to 13 millimeters long. The sepals are 1 to 4 millimeters long. The urn-shaped corolla is 10 to 14 millimeters long and 6 to 8 millimeters in diameter. The pointed to blunt petals are reddish or orange near the base and yellow to light orange above.

The number of chromosomes for both forms is 2n = 54.
