The Echimamish River is a tributary of the Nelson River in the Canadian province of Manitoba .

From the 17th through the 19th centuries, the Echimamish River was part of the Hudson's Bay Company's trade route between its North American headquarters, York Factory, and its main inland trading post, Norway House . With the loss of importance of the fur trade at the end of the 19th century, the waterways of the river were hardly used and so it is only used by the local Cree and occasionally by tourists.
