The Eckener Point is a headland at the Danco Coast of Graham Lands on the Antarctic Peninsula . It marks the northeast side of the entrance to Charlotte Bay and the east side of the entrance to Latinka Cove .
Participants in the Belgica expedition (1897–1899) led by the Belgian polar explorer Adrien de Gerlache de Gomery carried out the first rough mapping. The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named it in 1960 after the German airship pioneer Hugo Eckener (1868-1954).
