The Eclipse Glacier ( English for Dark Glacier ) is a glacier on the south coast of South Georgia . It flows in a south-westerly direction into the northern section of Jacobsen Bight .
The naming was made by participants of the survey campaign carried out from 1954 to 1955 under the direction of the British mountaineer George Sutton as part of the South Georgia Survey .
