history

The company was founded in 1998 as Ecotel Communication GmbH , based in Essen, as a purchasing group for telecommunication services with a focus on landline telephony . This happened in the course of the liberalization of the telecommunications market in Germany ( Telecommunications Act ). The customers of the services offered, which were increasingly geared towards integrated communication systems, initially included small and medium-sized companies and later large companies such as ING-DiBa , Hochtief , ROSSMANN, Korian and Allianz Deutschland . In 2000, the company changed its name to a corporation to, reached in 2002 for the first time break and was in the 2007 Prime Standard added. Ecotel markets products and services in the business areas of business customer solutions (B2B), reseller solutions, private customer solutions (B2C) and new media solutions.

The core area of ​​ecotel is represented by the segment »ecotel business customers«. Here ecotel offers business customers nationwide an integrated product portfolio of voice and data services (ICT solutions). The focus is on companies with more than 50 employees.

In the “ecotel Wholesale” segment, ecotel combines the offers for other telecommunications companies and maintains network interconnections with more than 100 international carriers.
