from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Changdag Trashi Tobgyel ( Tib . Byang bdag bkra shis stobs rgyal ; * 1550 ; † 1602 ) was an important master of the Buddhist teaching tradition of the Northern Treasures ( byang gter ) from the Nyingma School of Tibetan Buddhism . He expanded the Ewam Chögar monastery (see main article Dorje Drag ). Trashi Tobgyel was considered the reincarnation of the founder Ngari Penchen Pema Wanggyel (Tib. Mnga 'ris paṇ chen padma dbang rgyal ; 1487–1542).

He is credited with killing the Tsangpa King Shingshapa (Karma Tsheten Dorje) through his "powerful magical rituals".
