history
The first Ecuavoley tournament was held in 1958; after that it spread quickly. Ecuavoley continued to develop independently. The tournaments took place in neighborhoods and were hosted by various organizations. It became a popular national sport in Ecuador.

- The player's heel must not lift when serving, otherwise the referee will declare it invalid and the opposing team will receive the service.
- The winner is the one who wins two sets. If both teams win a set, a third set is played.
Lineup
The structure of the game is similar to that of volleyball:
- Each team consists of three players:
- The colocador (front player similar to the middle blocker of normal volleyball, literally "belayer"),
- The volador (back player who has to change quickly from left to right, literally "flier"), and
- The servidor (second front player, literally "player").
Prohibitions
One must not:
- touch the net with your hands,
- cross the line under the net.
Current
The sports officials have recently issued new rules for the national championships. For example, the serve can be served from anywhere as long as the player's foot remains in the service area. The net height is a maximum of 2.85 meters, but can be changed if z. B. the captains of the teams and the referee decide together on the height of the net.
