Mikasa is a Japanese sporting goods manufacturer. It was founded in Hiroshima ( Japan ) in 1917 as Masuda Rubber Industries . MIKASA has been making the match balls for all FIVB events and the Olympic Games since 1964 . Since 1982, Mikasa products have been sold in Germany by Hammer Sport AG, based in Neu-Ulm. In 2000, Mikasa presented the first colored indoor volleyball MVP 200 and in 2008 presented the first indoor volleyball with eight (instead of the previous 18) flame-shaped panel parts - the MVA 200.

As the ball supplier (volleyball / beach volleyball) for the 2012 Summer Olympics in London, MIKASA provides the game balls. In water polo, too, Mikasa is the official match ball for the Olympic Games and World Championships. The company's other products include basketballs and ball accessories.
