Ed Bell
Ed Bell (* around 1905 in Alabama , † around 1960 in Alabama) was an American blues musician.
Life
Bell was part of the blues scene in Greenville, Alabama , where he performed at local festivals. In 1927 he recorded his first session for Paramount Records , including his debut and now best-known piece, the "Mamlish Blues". In 1930 he recorded again for Columbia Records . During the Depression Bell sold his guitar and retired as a musician, and died around 1960.
His singing style was clearly influenced by the Field Hollers .
