Eddica minora

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Eddica minora ( smaller Edda songs ) is a collection of Old Norse poems from the 13th century. These seals (songs) are the heroic songs of the Codex Regius , or Poetic Edda , as seen from the substantive issue forth from the poetic meters , or similar related forth. The song poems are not part of the traditional text corpus of the song Edda, but are poetic insertions in the prose texts of certain Fornaldarsögur , the prehistoric sagas .

The name of the collection comes from the compilers and editors from 1903, the old Germanists Andreas Heusler and Wilhelm Ranisch .
