Eddy Bär is an animated brown bear who was created in 2008 by the German media company Jamba to market one of its ringtones .
background
The figure is a teddy bear with a snub nose and a guitar in hand. Originally conceived as a hamster figure, the bear was marketed as a ringtone in 25 countries. The first song in love appeared in six languages.
A total of four singles with Eddy Bär were released between 2008 and 2012 , but with Verliebt only the first was moderately successful and ranked 24th in Germany and 30th in Austria. In the accompanying video, the animated figure of Eddy Bär was copied in real scenes. The girl he sung about is portrayed by the then 19-year-old photo model Eilika Meckbach from Kassel.
