Eddy and the Backfires is a German rock and roll and rockabilly - band from the area Hanover .

history

Eddy and the Backfires were founded in 1999 by band leader Ralf "Eddy" Bergstedt to play wild rockabilly, based on the American rock'n'roll sound of the 1950s. After numerous formation changes, Eddy is the only remaining founding member of the band and has been completed by Michael Karas ( guitar ), Christian “Atze” Reichmann ( double bass ) and Patrick “Patrock” Müller ( drums ) since 2018 . Eddy and the Backfires mainly write their own titles, but also implement pieces from the 1950s in their own style .

style

According to the statements of the band leader, the style of the band is always “full throttle” and the music is “wild, passionate and uncompromising”. The perception of the rock and roll scene confirms this orientation, as Eddy and the Backfires are considered to be one of the wildest and hottest rockabilly bands in the world. The style is described as very distinctive and original, in which Eddy's vocals and the guitar in particular come across as expressive and dominant. The band had various national and international appearances, including with Bill Haley's Comets , three appearances on MTV 's TV series Pimp My Date and as a special guest at the “50's Beauty Contest” in Moscow
