Noblemen of Kirchberg

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The noblemen of Kirchberg were a noble family who lived in Kirchberg near Dingelstädt in Eichsfeld in the Middle Ages .

history

The first mention of a nobleman from Kirchberg is recorded for the year 1134. They lived on a small hill west of Dingelstädt, the Kerbschen Berg , in a fortified manor or part of a castle (Kirchberg Castle), which was built until 9/11. Century could be enough. They were wealthy themselves in the village of Kirchberg and the surrounding area, or they owned fiefs from other feudal lords. For several generations they owned castle fiefdoms at Gleichenstein Castle , first under the Counts of Gleichenstein and later under the Mainz electors .
