Edelin († October 15, 1293 ) was a Benedictine and abbot of the Weissenburg Monastery (Wissembourg) in Alsace .

As abbot, he ruled the monastery from 1262 until his death on October 15, 1293 . During his tenure, the construction of the Gothic Abbey Church of St. Peter and Paul , which still exists today, began.

Since the monastery had lost a large part of its possessions since the 10th century , Edelin had a list of goods made using older documents , called Codex Edelini or Liber Possessionum, in order to inventory the remaining property and protect it from further loss.

Edelin is considered one of the most important personalities in the history of the abbey and the city of Wissembourg .
