Noble seat Mühring

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The noble seat Mühring was in the homonymous part of the municipality Eberschwang district Ried im Innkreis in Upper Austria .

history

The headquarters of the Mühring family is said to have been a water castle in the then independent village of Mühring. In 1180 a Meinhardus de murring is mentioned. More Mühringers appear in the wake of the bishops of Passau . An Ortlof von Muring was 1304-1317 canon of Passau and dean of Krems . This seems to have been the last of the Mühringers.

Mühring was a court mark since the 16th century . The barons of Tattenbach were enfeoffed with Eberschwang , Mayrhof and Mühring around 1600 .

Headquarters Mühring today

Remnants of the Mühring headquarters are still present. The substructure of the lowland system was partially leveled and the moats filled in, but can still be seen to some extent. The site is now built over by a wooden house that looks older.
