Noble seat in Zell

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The noble seat Zell , also called Tannböckhof , was located in the municipality of Bad Zell in the Freistadt district of Upper Austria . In 1261 the "Hof daz cell" is attested, so it is the namesake of the place. In 1322 a Tanpekchhoff and in 1492 again the Sicz zu Czell are mentioned. A Jörg Tannböck was burgrave of Reichenstein . 1362 he was the bishop of Regensburg with the court invested . The Tannböckhof was awarded by the sovereign in 1477 and has been considered a noble residence ever since. The Tanpekhhoff zu Zell was also mentioned in 1538. Hillebrant Jörger von Prandegg bought the farm and the market in 1536 from the diocese of Regensburg . The land of the Meierhof was "hardened" (that is, divided and sold individually) to the citizens of the market.

The noble seat was designated as uninhabitable in 1642, used as a court box in 1771 and finally torn down in 1790. Two market houses were built in its place.
