Edeltraud Vomberg

Edeltraud Vomberg (born May 22, 1960 in Mönchengladbach ) is a German social scientist and incumbent president of the Düsseldorf University of Applied Sciences (HSD).

Live and act

Edeltraud Vomberg studied social sciences and German studies at the Philosophical Faculty of RWTH Aachen University and received her doctorate there in 1988 with the dissertation “Design perspectives of human-machine interaction in the light of the structural properties of linguistic communication”. In addition, she worked as a research assistant at the University Didactic Center of RWTH Aachen University (today Cybernetics Lab IMA & IFU). After completing her doctorate, she was the managing director of the Aachen training workshop. V. and part-time trainer and freelance lecturer for various educational institutions in adult education. From 2000 to 2015 she worked as a consultant, auditor , assessor , validator and expert in quality management .

In 1997 she appointed the Niederrhein University of Applied Sciences as a professor for social management. Vomberg taught there until 2014. Her teaching areas included the technical and economic development and control of social institutions and projects, the field of employment promotion / labor market policy as well as quality, project and communication management. In July 2010 she founded the research institute SO.CON Social Concepts - Institute for Research and Development in Social Work , which she also headed as scientific director until August 2015. In September of the same year, she finally took over the management of the Department for Social Affairs and Health in the Aachen city region , which she held until the end of May 2019. She has been President of the Düsseldorf University of Applied Sciences since June 2019 .

Vomberg is married, has two children and lives in Aachen and Düsseldorf .
