Annalynn is a melodic hardcore / metalcore band from the Thai capital Bangkok, founded in 2004 .

history

After several local metal bands broke up in 2004, several former members of these same groups formed the melodic hardcore band Annalynn in Thailand's capital Bangkok . Today the band consists of the singer Nathapon Jutathaveewan, the two guitarists Supatchaya Sompong and Nuttapop Cheunsuktananun, bassist Eakaratch Kaewsomdej and drummer Nattbhol Larp-ar-parat. A previous member is guitarist Thitipong Petcharat.

In the founding year, an EP was released under the title First Shut Up, Then Shut Down . In 2010, after the first album, Science of Scream , had been released three years earlier on the Vietnamese underground label Screamlab Records , their second EP was released under the title A Year of Misery . In February 2015, the release of the second studio album Stare Down the Undefeated followed , on which Jonathan Vigil from the American hardcore band The Ghost Inside can be heard in the song Dead Weight and Ryo Kinoshita from Crystal Lake in Never Coming Down as a guest singer , at the Thai music label Banana Records . Stare Down the Undefeated was released in December 2017 via Radtone Music in Japan . At the end of October 2019 the group released a new single called Holy Gravity on which CJ McMahon from the Australian death metal band Thy Art Is Murder can be heard.

The group is now under contract with the Thai branch of Warner Music .

Annalynn are now touring internationally and have played concerts in the People's Republic of China , Singapore , Malaysia , Hong Kong , Taipei and Japan . The group has already acted as a support act for Knocked Loose , Thy Art Is Murder, Crystal Lake, LOATHE , Your Demise and Brutality Will Prevail .

style

Singer Nathapon Jututhaveewan describes groups like the Beastie Boys , Deftones , As I Lay Dying , Terror and Misery Signals as the band's musical influences. In Loudersound Annalynn is as a modern nu-metal band with low-tuned guitars and screaming vocals described which especially fans of Emmure and For the Fallen Dreams likely fallen.

In their music, the musicians work with breakdowns as well as with elements of the two-step . The music is described as Melodic Hardcore , but it also has borrowings from the much harder Metalcore .
