Edgar von Cossart is a German screenwriter and lecturer .

Life

Edgar von Cossart was employed by WDR and SWR and also worked as a freelance filmmaker. He has now been working full-time as a screenwriter and lecturer for around 25 years. In the course of his work as a screenwriter, he made a feature film and several series episodes, as well as television plays and two crime scenes, as well as a thriller that was filmed as a European co-production in German and French and was filmed again after being broadcast for the American market. In addition, he makes industrial films, including a. for North Rhine-Westphalia , VIAG AG, Daimler , Siemens , Novotel , Ibis and Deutsche Telekom as well as training films and documentaries for ARTE .

Teaching

Edgar von Cossart teaches scripts, story development, dramaturgy, dramaturgy of the image, creative writing , storytelling , film and art history, and art theory at Macromedia University and other schools and universities. He oversees various teaching projects that have resulted in award-winning films. He trains TV station staff in dramaturgical issues and gives courses in which storytelling is taught.
