Life

Kleckers, who had completed an apprenticeship as a carpenter, was a boat builder. In addition, he successfully participated in international boat races as a canoeist with his own designs . When, in the 1950s, the massive wooden construction of canoes was initially replaced by boats made of lighter and therefore faster compressed wood , and later plastic, Kleckers gave up canoe construction for racing. He switched to the series production of paddles for Bundeswehr boats . Several motor boats for recreational sports were also built in his workshop.
