life and work

Eduardo Tresoli began studying architecture and design at the Politecnico di Milano , but left the university after a year to work as an artist. I.a. he worked as a designer for film sets. Since 2013 he has been constructing gigantic temporary grid structures in public spaces that are illuminated at night.

A temporary work was a setting for a royal banquet in Abu Dhabi . Together with the Designlab Experience ( Dubai ) office, he created a stage-like, translucent and feather-light installation made of arcades , domes, colonnades and temple-like structures. The scenery was formed solely from metal grilles that were illuminated at night. For the Meeting del Mare festival , he constructed the giant wire sculpture Incipit on the seashore of Marina de Camerota ( SA ) . The installation in the form of a gate system with transparent birds fluttering around its gate tower was created in collaboration with Simone Pallotta and Antonio Oriente.

A permanent installation is located in the Italian city of Siponto in Apulia. He reconstructed the entire church of Santa Maria Maggiore from wire mesh , of which only little has been preserved apart from the facade and part of the original nave, in order to create an overall impression of the intact form of the church. The project was made possible by the support of the Soprintendenza Archeologica della Puglia and the Italian government.

In 2017 Eduardo Tresoli was named to Forbes ' list of Top European U-30 Artists.
