Eduard Bost

Eduard Bost ( February 10, 1813 in Kamenz - June 1, 1879 in Berlin ) was a German opera singer ( bass ), theater actor and comedian .

Life

Bost, originally a saddler , went to the stage, prompted by his beautiful voice. He made his debut on a touring stage and moved around with the same for a long time.

On these hiking trips he also came to Dresden, where he received an engagement at the court theater on October 1, 1832 and stayed until 1840. He then went to the Hamburg City Theater (1840 to 1849), worked in Leipzig (1849 to 1850) and then at the Riga City Theater (1850 to 1851).

On September 26, 1851, he was invited to a guest performance at the Royal Opera. There he was offered a contract immediately after this. He made his debut there on October 28, 1851. He stayed in Berlin until his death, although he withdrew from the stage on October 1, 1873, but then continued to appear in the theater. He was especially valued as a comedian.

He was married to Marie Stephany .
