Eduard Brummer

Eduard Brummer ( December 6, 1850 in Munich - December 10, 1888 there ) was a German theater actor , operetta singer (baritone) and comedian .

Life

His inclination and talent for the theater made itself felt at an early stage, and he courageously overcame all the obstacles that faced him, especially at the beginning of his career, always with his goal in mind, which he finally reached, albeit on a thorny path. He started on small Bavarian provincial theaters, then he came to Ischl, Meran, Salzburg and Trieste, where he was popular as a joker everywhere, but could not achieve any artistic position. Brummer was also engaged at the Komische Oper in Vienna, but the longing soon led him back to his hometown, where he found accommodation at the Thalia Theater. He did not stay there long. In 1876 he became a member of the City Theater in Brno and in 1877 at the Friedrich Wilhelmstädtische Theater in Berlin, where his star began to shine and in 1878 he finally received a call to the Gärtnerplatz Theater in Munich. For 10 years he worked in this preferred position in every respect until he suddenly had a heartbeat on December 10, 1888 in his dressing room, immediately after the premiere of the comic opera "Ali Baba", in which he was shortly before Cassim ”passed away on the boards that for him really meant the world, had a great success.
