Eduard Friedrich Wilhelm Hintz ( December 23, 1807 in Koenigsberg - August 13, 1874 ) was a German theater actor .

Life

Hintz first appeared on the stage in Tilsit on October 31, 1826 as "Schnaps" in Die Two Billets , then became a member of the Faller Society, with which he toured all of Silesia until he succeeded in 1830 after a previous successful guest performance to be engaged to the Hoftheater Coburg .

He was a gifted artist and always strived to achieve the highest in his art. First it was character, then father roles in which he shone. In 1839 he was hired for life at the Hoftheater Coburg, to which he actually belonged until his death. He was imperturbably devoted to his duty and was a great honor and adornment to the art institute during his more than 40 years of artistic activity there.

Showered with tributes from the audience, he was awarded the medal for art and science by the Duke. In April 1873 he took the stage for the last time in Gotha as "James Ralph". A few days later he fell ill. The consequences of a dramatic liver disease swept him away on August 13, 1874.

He was the last male veteran of the old school at the Coburg Hofbühne, which suffered a bitter loss through his death.
