Eduard Raul Hellvig (born October 27, 1974 in Zalau ) is a Romanian politician .

He was a member of the Partidul Conservator and was a member of the European Parliament from January 1 to December 9, 2007 when Romania joined the European Union , where he was a member of the Group of the Alliance of Liberals and Democrats for Europe . In December 2008 he switched from the Conservative to the National Liberal Party , of which he has been General Secretary since 2011.

On May 7, 2012, Eduard Raul Hellvig became Romanian Minister of Tourism in the Ponta cabinet , a position he held until a government reshuffle at the end of 2012. In September 2013 he returned to the European Parliament.

On February 19, 2015, President Klaus Johannis nominated Eduard Hellvig as head of the Romanian secret service SRI .
