Eduard Lissner

Eduard Lissner (also: Lißner ; born September 20, 1891 in Hanover ; † December 12, 1951 ) was a German politician ( SPD / SED ) and trade unionist .

Life

Lissner, son of a blacksmith , attended elementary school in Hanover . He learned the seaman's trade in 1905 and continued to do so until 1914. In 1911 he became a member of the seaman's association and the Social Democratic Party of Germany (SPD). From 1914 to 1918 he did military service in the First World War . In 1918 he became a member of the German Metalworkers' Association (DMV). From 1920 to 1928 he was chairman of the works council at the Ostseewerft Stettin, and from 1928 to 1933 he was a full-time employee of the DMV.

After the " seizure of power " by the National Socialists, Lissner was dismissed and was unemployed for a long time. In 1937 he found work as a rigger on the Stettiner Oder works, where he was employed until 1945. He was arrested in August 1944.

After the collapse of the Nazi regime, Lissner initially worked for the Szczecin city administration and in the employment office. In July 1945, together with other comrades, he was promoted from Stettin to the Soviet Zone by the then mayor and with the help of the Red Army . There he became a member of the SPD and the Free German Trade Union Federation (FDGB). From August 1945 he was employed by the Schwerin city administration. In September 1945 he became head of department in the state board of the FDGB Mecklenburg. In 1946/47 he was second chairman of the FDGB state board of Mecklenburg.

From 1946 to 1950, Lissner was also a member of the state parliament of Mecklenburg.
