Eduardo Coutinho

Eduardo de Oliveira Coutinho (born May 11, 1933 in São Paulo , † February 2, 2014 in Rio de Janeiro ) was a Brazilian filmmaker who was known for his documentaries . Coutinho's works are characterized by his sensitivity and the ability to “listen to the other”.

He made his first films while studying at IDHEC . After his return to Brazil, he worked at the Centro Popular de Cultura ( Popular Culture Center ) da União Nacional dos Estudantes ( Brazilian Student Union ) from the 1960s .

His best-known films include Cabra Marcado para Morrer and Edifício Master , which are also highly regarded internationally.
