Edward Peter Lawless Faulks, Baron Faulks QC (born August 19, 1950 ), is an English barrister and Crown Attorney .

Youth and education

Faulks is the son of Peter Ronald Faulks MC and Pamela Faulks (née Lawless). The writer Sebastian Faulks is his younger brother. He studied at Wellington College in Berkshire and Jesus College in Oxford, where he graduated with an MA . In 1973 he was admitted to the bar.

Career

Faulks was appointed Crown Attorney in 1996. From 1996 to 2000 he was an assistant recorder and from 2000 a recorder . He is a member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators . In 2002 he became a bencher . From 2002 to 2004 he was chairman of the Professional Negligence Bar Association and from 2005 to 2006 advisor to the Department for Constitutional Affairs .

In 2010 he was promoted to Life Peer as Baron Faulks , of Donnington in the Royal County of Berkshire .

Personal

Faulks married Catherine Frances Turner in 1990. They have two sons.
