Sebastian Faulks

Sebastian Charles Faulks (born April 20, 1953 in Newbury , England) is a British journalist and best-selling novelist.

Life

Faulks is the son of judge Peter Ronals and his wife Pamela (Lawless) Faulks. His brother is Edward Faulks, Baron Faulks .

He studied literature and history at Emmanuel College , Cambridge and received a Bachelor of Arts (with honors) in 1974. From 1975 he taught English and French at the International School of London . In 1979 he switched to journalism and worked for the Daily Telegraph . In 1983 he moved to the features section of the Sunday Telegraph and in 1986 went to the Independent as feature section editor . In 1989 he became deputy editor-in-chief of the Independent on Sunday . In addition, Faulks worked as a broadcaster for the BBC and from 1978 to 1981 as an editor for the New Fiction Society .

In 1989 he married his former assistant at the Independent Veronica Youlton. The couple has three children.
