Newbury is a small town in the west of the English county of Berkshire in the United Kingdom and, like Hungerford, belongs to the district of West Berkshire . The nearest major town in the county is Reading .

Newbury has over 50,000 residents with the incorporated Thatcham .


The place is the headquarters of the mobile operator Vodafone .


Newbury has a motorway connection to the M 4 and has two stops on the Reading – Plymouth Line . The Kennet River and the Kennet and Avon Canal flow through the city.
