Edward Lee (* 1957 in Washington, DC ) is an American author of thrillers and horror literature .

life and career

After serving in the US Army and as a police officer, he concentrated for many years on being able to make a living from writing. During this time he worked as a night watchman in the security service. In 1997 he was finally able to realize his dream. He now lives in Florida and has written more than 40 novels, including the horror thriller Header (1995), which was filmed in 2006. He is considered an obscene provocateur and leading author of extreme horror and also belongs to Gothic Fantasy .

Lee himself sees one of his strongest influences in HP Lovecraft . He wrote several novels based on the Cthulhu myth , Lovecraft's greatest and best-known work. Among them are Trolley No. 1852 , Pages Torn From A Travel Journal , Innswich Horror (OT: The Innswich Horror ), The Dunwich Romance and Der Besudler auf der Schwelle (OT: The Haunter Of The Treshold ). The latter appeared in the Festa publishing house because of its content based on Cthulhu in the series HP Lovecrafts library of horror . In 2012 Innswich Horror won the Vincent Prize in the category of best international literary work . The novel Das Schwein (OT: The Pig ) was published in early 2013 in the still relatively new Extreme series by Festa Verlag. The book is not available through normal bookshops, but only through the publisher's website. In English, too, some of Lee's works have been published in special, limited editions.
