Edward Sizzerhand
Edward Sizzerhand , also known as Steady Fingaz , is an American DJ and music producer .
biography
Edward Sizzerhand was born in the Brooklyn borough of New York . Together with his family, he moved to Munich as a child , where he started DJing around the age of 13. At that time he already had his Technics 1210 turntable. Sizzerhand was inspired and influenced by DMC World Champ 1990/91 DJ David. Edward Sizzerhand had his first own appearance in a competition at the South German DJ Championship in 1997, where he immediately took first place. In 1999, the annual ITF German Championships elimination in scratching and beat juggling took place in Munich , where he took third place behind DJ Hype from Berlin and Molematic.
In 1996, former Backspin editor DJ Edward Sizzerhand met Rasul Allah and Iman Shahidi. He joins the two, becomes their DJ and founded with them the now legendary hip-hop group Square One . Numerous publications followed, as well as an extensive tour in Europe. In 2002, however, there was a split within the group and the associated dissolution, which was caused by internal disputes and financial differences, according to Edward Sizzerhand in an interview.
In 2005 he gave mixing lessons as a guest lecturer at the Ingolstadt DJ school.
After Steady Fingaz released various mix tapes for Marlboro , Phlatline Records and Showdown Records, among others , by the end of the 1990s , he founded his own tape label called OnTheMix Records in 1999 , on which well-known DJs such as DJ M-Tech and Rob Reece from the Needle Addicts and Spill & Sir Cut released their mix tapes. He also took over the distribution of other mixtapes with his label.
To this day, Sizzerhand has worked with various artists such as Diggin In The Crates' AG and Party Arty, Patrice as well as Fiva MC & DJ Radrum and a few others. In 2006 he published his mixtape Clubsoul through Kickz , with which he not only won a special wish, as a friend of good soul music, but also won an unusual bet in which he was not trusted to mix live drums with MPC drums.
