Edwin Plimpton Adams

Edwin Plimpton Adams (born January 23, 1878 in Prague , † December 31, 1956 ) was a physicist at Princeton University .

He studied in Cambridge (Mass.), Berlin , Göttingen and Cambridge (Engl.), Received his doctorate in Cambridge (Mass.) In 1904 and was Professor of Physics at Princeton University from 1909. In 1945 he was retired there. Since 1915 he was a member of the American Philosophical Society .

Among other things, he wrote the well-known reference work Smithsonian Mathematical Formulas and Tables of Elliptic Functions , Smithsonian Institution, Washington, 1922 together with the mathematician RL Hippisley .
