Edwin Seroussi

Edwin Seroussi (born December 26, 1952 in Montevideo , Uruguay ) is an Israeli musicologist of Uruguayan descent.

Born in 1952 in the Uruguayan capital Montevideo, he moved to Israel in 1971. He taught at Tel Aviv University and Levinsky Teachers College in Tel Aviv before going to Bar-Ilan University in 1990, where he headed the musicology faculty from 1994 to 1998. In 1992 and 1993 he was visiting professor at Binghamton University . He also worked as such from 1998 to 1999 at the University of California in Los Angeles . Seroussi has been director of the Jewish Music Research Center at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem since 2000 .
