Grolls Schwarze also Badacsoner (wrongly), Gubener Schwarze , Noir de Guben , Hepsisauer Kurzstiel , Effeltricher or Amber Cherry is a dark variety of sweet cherries belonging to the cartilage cherries .

origin

The pomologist Johann Georg Conrad Oberdieck received this variety from Guben from a relative of the breeder Groll Reiser around 1865 .

fruit

The fruit is medium to large in size, broadly rounded or heart-shaped. The firm skin is noticeably light dashed at the beginning of maturity and deep brown-violet to black-red when fully ripe. The firm pulp is black-red, coloring, very aromatic, sometimes with a slight bitter tone. It has a medium to low burst resistance. The stone is round to oval, medium-sized with a strongly protruding belly bulge and hook. The style is short to medium long, about 4 cm, medium thick to thick, mostly reddish and stands in a large pit. It ripens in the 4th to 5th cherry week .

The tree grows medium to strong with a tall and bulky crown. It is self-sterile and needs a fertilization partner and flowers early.
