Egas da Costa Freitas is a diplomat from East Timor .

Freitas used to be a teacher at Vemasse Secondary School . In 2001 he was still an official spokesperson for the management level of the veterans organization CPD-RDTL .

On November 19, 2015, Freitas was appointed East Timor's new ambassador to the Holy See . He follows Ovídio de Jesus Amaral, who died in 2014 . The accreditation took place on February 22nd, 2016. Freitas held the office until 2020.
