Egbert of Lindisfarne
Egbert von Lindisfarne (also Ecgberht ; † 821 ) was bishop of Lindisfarne from 802 to 821 .
Life
He succeeded Higbald von Lindisfarne , received his episcopal ordination on June 11, 802, and headed the diocese until his death in 821. The Latin poem Carmen de abbatibus , written by his brother Æthelwulf during his lifetime, is dedicated to him became and today u. a. is kept in the British Museum .
