The Bistum Sumbe ( lat. : Dioecesis Sumbensis ) is in Angola preferred Roman Catholic diocese based in Sumbe .

history

Pope Paul VI founded the diocese of Ngunza with the Apostolic Constitution Qui provido Dei on August 10, 1975 from cessions of territory from the Archdiocese of Luanda , to which it was also subordinated as a suffragan diocese.

It took the name Diocese of Novo Redondo on February 3, 1977. On October 22, 2006, it took on its current name.
