The Egerland Fountain is located in Marktredwitz, Bavaria (Upper Franconia) in front of the Egerland Culture House , Fikentscherstraße 24.

history

The Egerland fountain made of granite , which was inaugurated on September 3, 2005 on the forecourt of the Egerland Culture House in Fikentscherstraße, has a diameter of seven and a height of six meters.

Four levels are arranged in a pyramid shape above the octagonal fountain basin. There are 52 artistically designed bronze figures on it , depicting a Egerland wedding procession with a wedding couple, wedding loaders, bridesmaids, musicians, dances and chamber carriages. The top of the fountain is decorated with a pigeon house, around which pigeons fly. The fountain with its figures has a strong cultural expressiveness, it bears witness to the Egerland customs . The individual figures radiate optimism and joy.

The two Egerland sculptors Hatto Zeidler and Christoph Zeidler designed and executed the numerous figures. Both of them also designed the fountain architecture.

The association of the Egerländer Gmoin with its former chairman Günther Müller financed the cultural monument with donations.
