An eggshaker , also known as a chicken shaker , is a percussion instrument and is one of the shakers . In terms of instruments, the eggshaker is an egg-shaped vessel rattle that belongs to the group of idiophones . The egg shape can be made of different materials such as wood, metal or plastic and is filled with granules . Grain and fill level contribute significantly to the sound.

use

A variety of sounds and rhythms can be created by shaking, rotating, damping and other techniques . Eggshakers are also played in pairs. They are basically scaled-down maracas without a handle. The sound is fine and quiet. They are therefore suitable, for example, for ensembles in the a cappella area or as an alternative to a larger shaker that disappears in the palm of your hand.
