Ehalkivi

The Ehalkivi is the largest erratic boulder in Estonia and the largest glacial erratic block on mainland Northern Europe . It is located at Cape Letipea on the southern coast of the Gulf of Finland and is in the rural municipality of Viru-Nigula in Lääne-Viru County . It is made of pegmatite . With a length of 16.5 meters, 14.3 meters wide and 7.6 meters high, it has a circumference of 49.6 meters and a volume of 930 cubic meters, thus a mass of around 2,500 tons. For centuries it served as a landmark for seafarers .
