The Egmont Comic Collection (ECC) is a publishing brand of the Egmont Verlagsgesellschaft mbH for comics and graphic stories in the German-speaking area and is based in Berlin . Until 2013, the brand operated under the name Ehapa Comic Collection (ECC). The publishing house moved from Cologne to Berlin to the Egmont headquarters in 2017 .

history

Klaus M. Mrositzki, Michael F. Walz and Andreas Boerschel laid the foundation stone for the Egmont Comic Collection in 1989 at Ehapa Verlag Stuttgart. The aim is to place comics in bookshops in addition to the traditional kiosk business.

With a backlist of more than 800 titles and over 80 new releases a year, the Egmont Comic Collection is one of the leading providers of comics and graphic stories in German-speaking countries today . In addition to classics of Franco-Belgian comic literature such as Asterix , Lucky Luke , Blueberry and the opulent (pictorial) works by Enki Bilal, Egmont Comic Collection also publishes the Disney universe around Mickey Mouse , Donald Duck & Co, which is available in numerous series and is regularly expanded with new productions. Since 2004, the Egmont Comic Collection has also specialized in German in-house productions that are integrated into the comic program. The Egmont Comic Collection celebrated its 20th anniversary in May 2009.
