Medal of Honor "Commitment and Action to Protect Socialism"

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The medal of honor "Confession and deed to protect socialism" was an award of the Free German Youth (FDJ) of the German Democratic Republic (GDR), which was donated in 1979 in one step. It was the successor to the medal of honor “Confession and Deed to Protect the GDR”, which was awarded from 1972 to 1978, and is similar to its predecessor. The gilded medal shows on its obverse two heads looking to the left, the one in the back a member of the NVA and the one in front a member of the FDJ. The reverse is smooth and shows the inscription: Confession and deed to protect socialism . The medal was worn on the upper left side of the chest of the entrant on a golden clasp, which shows the colored enamelled coat of arms of the FDJ in the middle, of which a laurel branch is attached to the outside on both sides.
